One Ambition: In 1967, a unique company was born out of an overwhelming passion for motorsport and technology. A for Aufrecht, M for Melcher and G for Großaspach. Together, they optimised the performance of engines and became involved in motorsport  –  and turned two-man operation later into a global brand under the umbrella of Mercedes-Benz. The first sporting milestone was the 24-hour race in Spa in 1971 - the sensation was perfect and the name AMG went around the world.

We are creators of exceptionally high-performance vehicles. For us, inspiration has always been crucial. Whether legendary racing successes with the AMG 300 SEL 6.8 ("Rote Sau") or iconic model versions of the SLS AMG for the road or race track: the basis for this was always pioneering work and passion.
