Motorsport
The performance brand AMG has been born on the racetrack - from the historical victory in Spa in 1971, successful involvement in the DTM, the two-time world championship title in the FIA GT to involvement in customer motorsport. The AMG brand has also been represented in Formula 1TM since the 2012 season with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Team as the engine manufacturer of High Performance Powertrains.

Heritage
One Ambition: In 1967, a unique company was born out of an overwhelming passion for motorsport and technology. A for Aufrecht, M for Melcher and G for Großaspach. Together, they optimised the performance of engines and became involved in motorsport – and turned two-man operation later into a global brand under the umbrella of Mercedes-Benz. The first sporting milestone was the 24-hour race in Spa in 1971 - the sensation was perfect and the name AMG went around the world.

We are creators of exceptionally high-performance vehicles. For us, inspiration has always been crucial. Whether legendary racing successes with the AMG 300 SEL 6.8 ("Rote Sau") or iconic model versions of the SLS AMG for the road or race track: the basis for this was always pioneering work and passion. Today’s fascinating cars such as Mercedes-AMG ONE and Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed also represent this spirit and carry our DNA into a new era.
