New EU tyre label

New EU tyre label:

greater transparency, lower emissions.

On 1 May 2021, the European Union introduced a new regulationon the labelling of tyres with regard to fuel efficiency and other parameters. The aim of this is to enable you to make a conscious decision for more fuel-efficient tyres. In both privately and commercially used vehicles, this can reduce costs in addition to making a contribution towards reduced emissions.

In addition, the new tyre label that comes into force with this regulation supports the EU's goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Road transport and the reduction of the CO2 emissions it generates play a major role in achieving this goal.

On the information about the new regulation on the labelling of tyres with regard to fuel efficiency and other parameters. Please note that the actual fuel savings and road safety depend to a large extent on one's own driving style as well as the specific conditions (e.g. weather, topography, traffic density) during the journey. The fuel consumption can be drastically reduced by adopting an environmentally friendly driving style. To improve fuel efficiency and wet grip, it is recommended to check the tyre pressure regularly. Please also note that the braking and stopping distances can change depending on the speed driven, as well as on the weather conditions; accordingly, appropriately safe distances to other road users should be maintained.
