Museum Monday: “Cars&Coffee” at the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

It is a sunny Sunday Morning. The visitors wander back and forth between the cars in front of the Mercedes-Benz Museum, taking a look at the first treasures that have rolled onto the hill, and have a chat here and there: “Cars&Coffee” has begun. This year, it takes place on every summer’s Sunday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. up to and including 8 September 2019. A 300 SL Roadster demonstrates a classic colour combination: silver on the outside, red on the inside. What stands out, however, is the patina – as the body is dull in some places and has a dent here and there. “Every dent tells a story,” says Martin, proud owner of this super sports car from the 1950s. “I deliberately leave the vehicle just as it is.” Technically, however, the sports car is in the best condition and, with a few retrofittable modifications, is even fit for everyday use. “I drive around 10,000 kilometres with the roadster each year.”
“Cars & Coffee” – this year, there’s a total of thirteen summer Sundays with vintage and classic cars of all brans at the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Fans talk about their treasures, and there are relaxed chats about classic vehicles and the subtleties of automotive culture. The Mercedes-Benz Summer Lounge serves coffee, cool drinks and summer snacks. “Cars & Coffee” has established itself as a casual meeting in the region.
