Mercedes-Benz Thailand today announced MercedesTrophy 2016, a world-class golf tournament that opens up an exclusive opportunity for Mercedes-Benz customers to enter a global series of competitions. Held under a tournament concept of “Be The Best You Can Be”, the 17th event this year is set to begin its qualifying round late April when players compete for limited places in the Country Final. The best golfers will then represent Thailand at the Asian Final in Australia, of which the winners book their berths to the World Final in Stuttgart, Germany. In the Thai stage, renowned Thai pro Prom Meesawat will provide his professional tips to the winners of the Country Final.
Mr Michael Grewe, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) Limited, said: “MercedesTrophy is an amateur golf tournament held to enhance Mercedes-Benz’s relationship with the customers who are golf enthusiasts and to offer them an exclusive opportunity to join a world-class tournament. This year, the tournament concept encourages the participants to “Be The Best You Can Be” based on our belief that every golfer has the potential to excel in their sporting endeavours. As with previous events, we hope to create the best experience for our valued customers. The tournament is now in its 17th consecutive year and we have prepared a host of great prizes for participants. Among them, the hole-in-one winner at the Country Final will become a proud owner of the new C 350 e Exclusive, a luxury plug-in hybrid with refined sportiness from Mercedes-Benz.”
Mr Martin Schulz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, added: “Since the beginning of MercedesTrophy in Thailand, more than 9,700 customers of Mercedes-Benz nationwide have teed off at this tournament. The participants of the 17th MercedesTrophy will not only be exposed to a unique tournament experience and friendship both in the qualifying round and the Country Final, but also have the chance for many golfing privileges. The best seven at the Country Final can expect to take their golf skills to new heights with professional tips and techniques from Prom Meesawat, a promising Thai pro who is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Thailand and is a Thai hopeful in world-leading professional golf tournaments. Additionally, at the Asian Final, MercedeTrophy representatives from Thailand also have their chance in “Drive to the Major” challenge, in which three golfers whose drives finish closest to the marked line on a designated hole will win a trip to watch “The Open 2016” as special guests of Mercedes-Benz—a truly exclusive experience not available from any other golf tournaments.”
