Bangkok – Mercedes-Benz Thailand set a new sales record for the month of September 2011 with a total unit sales of 581 vehicles, posting a 40% growth when compared to the similar month of last year. The company is confident to defend its top spot in the luxury car segment for the eleventh consecutive year.
Dr. Alexander Paufler, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) Limited, revealed: “We saw immediate effects of our recent new business strategies for the fourth quarter beginning this September when we introduced 9 new models across the vehicle segments along with a 2-5% price reduction in 7 models that drove our sales in September 2011 up to a new record, or 581 vehicles delivered, translating into a 40% increase when compared to the similar monthly sales of the same period last year at 415 vehicles. This 319 vehicles or 122% increase compared to the month of August 2011 posted us a new sales record in the past two years with an accumulated unit sales since the beginning of the year at a new height of 3,553 vehicles, a 3.5% rise when compared to the similar period last year (January – September 2010) when we delivered 3,433 vehicles.”
The past September was an excellent month for Mercedes-Benz Thailand whose impressive sales growth covered all vehicle segments. The new introduction of the new C-Class Coupe Edition 1, the compact coupe with perfect shape, the new generation C-Class with new 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission, and especially the C 200 BlueEFFICIENCY had all been positive to the overall sales. Meanwhile, the E 200 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY ELEGANCE, the only petrol and natural gas-powered premium car in the Thai premium market, the new roadster SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY Sports AMG, and the S 500 BlueEFFICIENCY Long Wheel Base with the new V8 BlueDIRECT engine that save as much as 16% energy than its predecessor.
